Gumstix is an arm-based platform.  If you want to build for an ia32  
system, define machines=ia32_pc99.

That means you either haven't installed the arm cross-compiling tools,  
or it is not in your $PATH variable yet.

Sounds like you're almost there.  Let us know if you run into more  
problems.  The mailing list archives also contain a good source of  
information.
