[okl4-developer] recommended binutils?

Hello,

I'm an infrequent tinkerer with L4 stuff for years now but this is my  
first experience with OKL4.  I'm wondering if there is a certain  
recommended binutils version I should be using.  I took the advice of  
the README file for getting the appropriate compiler, but when I run  
the wombat linux I've built I get page faults dropping me into the  
debugger.

I also found I had to create symlinks on my FC4 workstation to make  
the build system find tools like nm, ld, strip, ar etc.   This makes  
me think I'm not building a valid image the way things were expected  
to work, bringing me back to my binutils question :-)

I did manage to run the VGA build and could switch the debugger  
between serial console and VGA, but never got the kernel booted except  
one time (by luck I suppose, I can't replicate it yet) but it  
complained about an invalid system call over and over again.

Any extra newbie guidance on OKL4 would be greatly appreciated.

PS: I'm very excited to hear about L4 making it into consumer  
electronics!
