Hi Jorge,
No worries.
I'm sure it didn't break his machine, but it would be a shame if
everyone thought you had to be root to build when you don't because one
day something truly weird will happen. (Although I see why you do need
to be root). Personally I'd rather we said what we think to help each
other on this list, if I'm wrong, I'm sure you'll jump in with better
information yourself.  :-)
